Q1. What do I have to do or supply to have my website created?

You will need to supply us with the content, be it text and/or images that you specify. You will not need to organise it, or lay it out or format it in any way, just make sure to give the text to us in a readable format likeMS Word, MS Excel, MS Notepad etc; we will handle the rest. After supplying us with this information you will be contacted on occasion to confirm or make changes to our work in progress.

Q2. How much does it cost?

A2.
The cost of a website varies, depending upon the type of site you require. A very simple site will cost approx £500, a standard site £950, a more complex Ecommerce site/Database Driven site £1000+. Obviously each site has to be treated on its individual requirements, but these figures should give you a rough idea of costs With a brief outline of your requirements a ballpark figure can be provided.

Q3. What do I get for my money?

We work closely with you to produce a design which reflects your business and will appeal to your clients/customers. We do not use ready made templates, all our sites are original, designed from scratch and bespoke. We offer our clients excellent value for money. Granted you may find a cheaper offer out there and you will definitely find a lot more expensive solutions but we have a proven track record and ten years of experience. We offer free help and advice through every stage or development and continued support once your web site is live. Our clients are happy clients and end up with a web site which meets their requirements with its own unique look and feel.

Q4. How will people find my web site?

Your web site will be built properly following the current best practice and will be registered with the free to register search engines. We use many of the latest SEO (search engine optimisation) techniques including keywords in the page title, page text and in special tags within the HTML code, site maps and offer a wealth of advice on how to maximise your web site search engine performance. We often achieve very good search engine results but can not guarantee first page placement. It is often necessary to use paid listings or the services of specialist SEO companies to guarantee first page placement.

Q5. How long will it take before my website is live online?

We aim to complete your project in approx 3-5 weeks after we have received all the content. Larger more complex database driven web site will take longer. Normally it takes 1-2 weeks to reach design sign off stage and then 2-3 weeks to populate.

Q6. What is hosting?

A6.
Hosting is the space on the internet where your website is stored. We find the best hosting solutions for our clients, either through our sister company Toasting -
www.toasting.co.uk or our client's chosen hosting company. We will set up all of the client's hosting requirements including Databases and Scripting etc.

Q7. What is domain name registration?

Every website has a www.address.com. This address needs to purchased in order for your website to operate. We can provide domain names through our sister company Toasting -
www.toasting.co.uk. It is important to choose the best domain name(s) to represent you or your business and it can also help with SEO (search engine optimisation) we can provide help and advice to make sure you make the best available selection.

Q8. I do not know how to write the text for my website?

A8.
Often the hardest side of building your web site is providing engaging text that sums up your philosophy while still being engaging and concise. We can call on the service of an expert, proven copywriter who has produced text for many blue chip clients.

Q9. What about maintaining my web site once it is live?

A9.
Once your web site is live it is likely some level of maintainace will be required from updating contact details to adding new case studies or a completely new look & feel. For smaller changes we charge a fixed hourly rate which can be broken down for very minor updates. If the changes are more extensive we will provide a quote and timescales. Minor updates are carried out with 1-3 days. If you wish to regularly update areas of the your web site a CMS (content management system) may be more appropriate, please see Question 10.

Q10. Can I update my own web site?

A10.
Yes. We have designed many web sites with CMS (content management systems) these require no specialist skills in order to update your web site. You can change copy, images and upload documents. The CMS works via a very user friendly web based admin system so all you need is access to the Internet to instantly update your web site.

Q11. Do you offer any type of discounts?

A11.
We offer discounts for schools and non profit organisations.
